I came home Sunday still smelling of the fire, the fresh air, and the sea. I'm glad I got to spend the past two weekends in this spot. The days were a good reminder to slow down, breath deep, and look around.
There were mussels picked fresh and pacific oyster fritters and pizza after pizza after pizza. We sucked down kumamotos with fresh mignonette and cozied up next to the crackling wood oven. There was geoduck digging... then peeling... then sashimi and ceviche and saute.
I wish we could take it all with us when we leave- the people, the food, the ocean- all of it.

love these photo! what a great time!
ReplyDeleteThis looks fantastic!! :D Where is this spot? What a way to spend a weekend. I would love to just go there with good friends and do what you did - relax amidst awesome food. I can't believe there's an actual pizza oven out in the open for you to make your own pizzas?? I'm still getting over that. (let me know where this awesome place is pleaseee! :D)
ReplyDeleteThanks lynnette! It's actually my friends cabin on Vashon Island. Can you believe they have their very own pizza oven?! And they grow their own oysters! So pretty :)
